Betty Jean Bish
July 6th, 1923 - March 29th, 2010
Betty Jean Bish of Marsing, passed away March 28, 2010 surrounded by her family. Betty was born to George and Florence Culver on July 7, 1923 in Calexico, CA. and was an only child. She was a natural teacher and mother and took everyone under her wing. Betty owned and operated many restaurants throughout her life. Her last restaurant was The Sandbar River House that she owned with Anne Muller from 1986 until she retired. On April 10, 1984, Betty married her love, Cecil Bish and they settled in Marsing, along the Snake River. She loved to cook and entertain. Betty and Cecil also loved to travel. They spent many winters in San Diego, CA with family and friends. Betty is survived by her son, Steve Culver and his wife, Suzie of O'Brien, OR; a step-son Jerry Bish and his wife Carolyn of IL: 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, and several cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Cecil and two sons, John and George. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at 1:00 pm at the Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell. Interment will follow at the Melba Cemetery. Betty's family would like to give a special thank-you to her caregivers, Anne Muller, Kristi Hendry, Linda Jones and Sabina Hallam.
