Evelyn (Dehlin) Ireland, 61, of Homedale, passed away Thursday, December 31, 2009 at home after a long and courageous battle with cancer. A viewing will be held from 9:30-10:45AM at the church. Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday, January 6, 2009 at the Homedale Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (708 W. Idaho Ave.). Interment will be held at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery at 2:00PM. Evelyn was born February 16, 1948 at Council, Idaho to John and Dorothy Dehlin. She attended school at McCall, Idaho graduating in 1966. She was a National Honor Society Member and a member of the Girl Scouts for 10 years and a leader for 2 years. Evelyn went to Kinman Business University, Spokane, WA., then went to work for Continental Life Insurance Co. in Boise and later working for the State of Idaho. After moving to Homedale she worked for Jackson Realty and H & R Block. On April 26, 1980 she was married to Milton Ireland in the Idaho Falls Temple, gained 3 step-children and then their daughter Shelley was born in 1984. Shelley and Luis presented her with three grand-children, Trevor, Tyler, and Linnea, they were the love of her life. Evelyn was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and held several different positions, the last being Family History Worker. She loved the mountains and being surrounded by her family and friends. She enjoyed yard sales, reading, and picking huckleberries. She is survived by her husband, Milt of Homedale, daughter, Shelley & Luis Moreno of Nampa, three step-children; Danny Ireland, Robin Hamlin, and Christina Lough, grand-children, Trevor, Tyler, and Linnea Moreno, step grand-children; Kamalah Ireland, McKenna Ireland, Dave Felty Jr., and T.J. (Timothy Joseph) Hamlin, mother, Dorothy Dehlin of McCall, ID, brother, Marvin Dehlin of Pollock, ID, father-in-law, Floyd Ireland of Nampa, ID, two aunts, and several cousins and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her dad, and mother-in-law, Edna Ireland. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Legacy Hospice (680 S. Progress Ave. #2A, Meridian, ID 83642) in Evelyn's name.
