Thomas Reemt Meininger. 74, passed away suddenly at his home in Marsing on Tuesday, January 20, 2009. Tom was born July 25, 1934 in Plymouth, WI. and was one of eleven children. He graduated from Plymouth High School in 1952, following high school, he worked at Midwest Creamery until he moved to Idaho. Growing up around 10 brother and sisters, life was always full of laughter and activities in the Meininger house. Tom and his best friend Dan Schwartz, also of Plymouth, Wisconsin started their lives by moving out west in the late 1950's. He resided in Caldwell, Idaho. Tom began working at King Brown Gardens as their underground sprinkler system foreman. There he met and married Claudia Johnston (Dawson). They had two children, Melinda (Nothern) and Stuart Meininger. They were later divorced but remained friends until his death. In the early 1960's Tom formed Meininger Sprinklers in Caldwell, Idaho he owned and operated the business for many years and was well known among many homeowners in the Caldwell area for his very competent designs and service. Tom enjoyed fishing and the out doors. He also enjoyed exploring the Owyhee Mountains and visited Silver City often. He was preceded in death by his parents Rev. Gustave and Alma Meininger, two brothers Carl and Ray Meininger and a sister Margaret Smith. He was also preceded in death by his good friend Dan Schwartz. He is survived by his two children Melinda Nothern of Boise and Stuart Meininger of Ohio as well as two brothers James Meininger of Cascade, WI, Gerald Meininger, Plymouth, WI five sisters Jane Heine of Burke, VA, Ruth Donovan of Warrenton, VA, Julia Miller of Van Wert, OH, Judith Johnson of Appleton, WI, Elizabeth Payne of Appleton, WI, four grandchildren and one great grandchild. A memorial service will be held for Tom at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 26, at Flahiff Funeral Chapel Caldwell. Service Information
