Memorial

Maxine Tucker, mother, wife and friend, passed away November 9, 2008 at her home in Wilder, Idaho, surrounded by her family. She was born August 21, 1940 in Tuttle, Idaho to Charles and Ellen Johnson. She met and married Sylvester Tucker and they had 47 wonderful years together raising five children. They were also blessed with 15 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. "My Wife, Our Mother" We mourned and grieved and cried When our beloved mother and wife died Never to touch our hand again Never to wonder where we'd been Never again to gently smile Or sit and talk for a little while She nurtured and loved her family She touched each of our hearts with wisdom Taught us to live, to love and care God put her here to teach, you see The trials and triumphs of humanity She knew we'd stumble and make mistakes Besides our laughter would come heartaches But she was there whenever we fell To pick us up and wish us well She guided each child along life's way And stood steadfast by Dad's side each day With this accomplished, God took her away. Maxine always had a passion for her family, horses and raising dogs. She and her husband spent many years managing cattle ranches in Oregon. They later retired and moved back to Idaho to be closer to family. Max loved big family get- togethers and spending time with her grandchildren. She spent time raising Australian Sheppards and enjoying her horses. Maxine was a loving mother and friend. The holidays were her favorite time of the year. With all her family together, she was always laughing and enjoyed a great joke. She lived her life doing what made her happy. Max loved the desert as much as the mountains. She loved spending time looking for arrowheads out in the desert, especially after a long cattle drive or chasing wild horses. While walking her horse, she was always looking for Indian artifacts to trace back to her heritage (Cherokee descent) on her fathers side of the family who's ancestors were on the "Trail Of Tears." Maxine is survived by her husband, Sylvester Eugene Tucker; her mother, Ellen Shaffier; two sisters, Alice Hand and Liane Walchel; two sons, John Tucker and James Tucker both of Nevada; three daughters, Dottie Murdock of Boise, Teresa Cuthbert of Caldwell and Tonya Pehrson of Eagle; grandchildren, Christina Williams, Jennifer and Brian Cuthbert, Mandy and Olivia Pena, Heather Solee, Chad Coonse, Joshua and Amanda Tucker, Corey, Bobbie, Dustin and Jazzman Pehrson; seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. The family offers a special thank you to XL Hospice for being so caring and compassionate. A viewing will be held on Thursday from 4:00pm until 8:00pm for family and friends at the Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell. A graveside service will be held at 3:00pm Friday, November 14, 2008 at the Idaho State Veterans Cemetery, Boise. Service Information
