Dan passed away July 18 at age 60 following a battle with cancer. Dan was born April 21, 1957 to John and Mary Cegnar. He grew up on a dairy farm south of Homedale and attended Homedale Schools, graduating from Homedale High School in 1975. Dan was a custom farmer and mechanic. He had a gift for mechanics at a young age and loved rebuilding engines and old cars. He also loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and rock hunting. Dan is survived by his mother Mary Cegnar, his four children, Brandie Campbell (Ross), Keith Cegnar (Ashley), Brian Cegnar, Sarah Cegnar, his siblings Bill Cegnar, Marilinn Batt (Reed), Janet Brown (Norm), ten grandchildren, Anthony, Tyson, Troy, Aaidan, Ashdan, Korban, Kenna, Prestan, Isaac, Janessa, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father John Cegnar and sister Carol Frazier. The family would like to say thank you to The Cottages of Emmett, Treasure Valley Hospice, the doctors and nurses of St. Alphonsus, and Liz LaFrainer for helping Dan. Special thanks are extended to Irene Ohls, Dan's ex-wife, mother of his children and lifelong friend for supporting and helping him through this difficult time. Any donations can be made to The Cottages of Emmett or Treasure Valley Hospice. There will be an open house reception for Dan at the Marsing Legion Hall Sunday, August 6th 2pm-4pm.
