Flahiff Funeral Chapels & Crematory-Caldwell
Eleanor Clara Brassfield
September 29th, 1927 - April 10th, 2017
On April 10, 2017 Eleanor Brassfield, our mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away at home with her family at her side. She will be truly missed by her entire family. Eleanor was born September 29, 1927 in Richmond, California, the only child of Wendell and Clara Seaman. Shortly after her birth they moved to the Treasure Valley. She attended numerous elementary schools throughout the valley. They eventually moved to Stanfield, Oregon, where she graduated from high school. She attended college at Eastern Oregon for a year and half, where she learned to fly and pursued a physical education degree with aspirations of becoming a teacher and coach. She returned to Nampa in 1946 and met her partner in life, Billie Jack Brassfield. They were married on February 19, 1947. They spent over 49 years together, sharing a lifetime of love and memories, and raising three wonderful children, Cheryl, Patty, and Mike. Her children always filled her with immense joy and endless pride throughout her long, love filled life. Eleanor was the essence of strength and resilience, qualities that made her an example and inspiration to the family that she loved more than anything else in her life. Everything she did was for family and their happiness. She worked tirelessly to ensure warmth, security, and support for her family. Eleanor was an indispensable presence diligently working in the yard, building six new homes, attaining her dream car, “a Cadillac,” establishing family traditions, providing educational support, and cheering on her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren for any activity. Eleanor was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, and an infant daughter. She is survived by daughters Cheryl Morris (Parma) and Patty Foster (Fruitland), daughter-in-law Sharon Schaaf (Fruitland), grandchildren Marti & Joe Van Winkle, Kelly & Josh Nichols, Brandy Foster & Dan Buker, Matt & Kelli Brassfield, and great-grandchildren Ambyr & Courtney Van Winkle, Jackson & Parker Nichols and Ashton and Claire & Michael Brassfield. A memorial service will be held on Monday, April 17, 2017 at 2:00 PM at the Sterry Memorial Church in Parma, ID. Condolences may be given at www.flahifffuneralchapel.com. Service Information
