Jackie Greer

Jackie Greer Jack Greer passed away peacefully at his home on July 26, 2015 surrounded by family. He was born on May 13, 1936 in Patterson, California to Imbel and Marvin Greer. Jack moved to Oregon at the age of 9 and spent his youth in the Oakland and Sutherlin, Oregon where he met his wife Sara. They were married on May 23, 1953 and had three children: Vickie, Allen and Jennifer. Jack worked in the logging industry before enlisting in the United States Air Force and trained as a Military Police Officer. Jack later enrolled in the Oregon Police Academy and became a certified Police Officer for the City of Coburg for many years. In the 80's Jack started his own long haul trucking company with his wife by his side as a co-driver and they hit the road for many adventures. Jack retired from trucking due to injuries from an accident and spent the remaining years taking trips with his wife in the motorhome going back to the places they had seen while driving but this time on their own schedule. He loved driving the "Big Girl," crafting dream catchers and his seemingly favorite past time, joking with the neighbors. Jack had a great sense of humor and loved to make people laugh. He is survived by his wife Sara, his three children, his brother Dean and sister Jean, seven grandchildren and many great grandchildren. He will be greatly missed but we will always smile when we think of all the silly and crazy things he used to do to make us laugh.
