Mary Williams December 6, 1954 – June 1, 2018 Mary Williams passed away on Friday, June 1, 2018, at her home in Wilder, Idaho. Mary Elizabeth Kofler Williams was born on December 6, 1954 in Chewelah, Washington to parents Leo & Dorothy Kofler. She graduated from DeSales High School in Walla Walla, Washington in 1973. Mary married Michael R. Williams on August 30, 1983 in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. The couple lived in Plummer, Idaho from 1983 to 1988. Before moving to Cottonwood, Idaho as Mike started his career in school administration. The family journey continued with a five year stint in Rosalia, Washington before settling in Wilder, Idaho in 1997. In addition to raising four children Mary was instrumental in Missoula Children’s Theater, PTA, and Church Youth Groups along with numerous school and community activities. Mary was always active enjoying swimming, biking, skiing, dancing, traveling and spending time with her children and grandkids. Mary loved to host a good party enjoying friends and family. Mary had no strangers in her life, just friends. Shortly after meeting you, Mary would know your family, hobbies, and ancestry while making you feel welcome and a part of her life. She loved people and was known for her charisma, smile and outgoing personality. Following the graduation of their youngest child (Nicholas) in 2005 Mary went back to college NNU earning a Bachelors degree in Education graduating with Summa Cum Laude honors. Mary took her passion for life, education and children into the classroom working with ED students in grades 4-8. When easier opportunities or assignments came along Mary would put her own best interests aside to stay where she was to guide, educate and nurture her students. Mary is survived by her husband (Mike) and her four children: Brooke (David) Hughes, Cory (Nick) Teckman, Drew Williams, and Nicholas Williams. Four grandchildren: Caden, Tegan, Luka & Tatum. Her sisters and brother were always held a special spot in her heart. Jeanne (Jack) Jordan, Linda (Tom) Hulst, Kay (Delton) Almond, Rob (Gretchen) Kofler. Mary’s family is deeply grateful to Mountain States Tumor Institute (MSTI), Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) in Phoenix, Arizona and Life Church in Meridian, Idaho for their care, professionalism, support and understanding during her two year battle with cancer. At her request there will be no funeral services. Mary would rather see donations given to the organizations listed above that helped guide and comfort her during this journey.
