Euveda "Tommy" Hamilton

Euveda May (Tommy) Hamilton [nee Thompson] died on June 23, 2016 of natural causes at age 94. She was born May 18, 1922; raised in Nebraska, she graduated from high school in Pierce. In 1942, Euveda married George Otto and they moved to Idaho, eventually purchasing a farm in the Wilder/Homedale area where he farmed and worked for many years for John Deere. They had one daughter, Grayhl Ann. George died in 1978 of cancer. Euveda was a homemaker, a mother, and a bookkeeper. One of her favorite jobs was working at the Texaco Super Station for Dale and Gypsy Jackson, who became her lifelong friends. After that time, she had various other bookkeeping jobs, including the Riverbend Golf Course. After more than a decade as a widow, Euveda married Kenneth Hamilton in 1989. They loved going camping and riding to different places on his motorcycle. Kenneth died in January 1995. In 1997, Euveda married Bob Hamilton. They lived happily on the farm; and in the last few years, Bob gave her loving care as dementia was setting in on her. He died in 2015, shortly after they moved into Autumn Wind in Caldwell. Euveda absolutely loved working with people and socializing. Anyone who knew her will always remember her smile and laughter – and the poems she would write for every occasion! She usually had a joke to show or tell. A member of a bridge club, she very much enjoyed being a hostess in her home. She and Bob loved to play pinochle and belonged to a pinochle club. If you went to their house for a great home cooked meal, you would probably sit down and play pinochle with them. Known for her black hair and dangly, flashy ear rings, Euveda was always beautifully “made up.” She was known to say, “As long as there is black hair dye, I will have black hair!” Survived by her sister Cleo Sinker, and numerous nephews and nieces, Euveda was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Pearl Thompson; brothers Euell and Dallas; her daughter, Grayhl; and husbands, George Otto, Kenneth Hamilton, and Bob Hamilton. During the last year and a half of her life at Autumn Wind in Caldwell, the staff was very loving and caring. She was as happy with them as they were with her. We want to thank them for their love and care for her. We would also like to thank Heart-N- Home Hospice for their care of her the last few years. Memorial services will be held on Saturday July 9 at 10:00 a.m. at the Flahiff Funeral Chapel in Homedale. There will be a light luncheon at the Homedale Senior Center following the service.
