Nellie Tomi Bidwell, 88 (an Irish woman with a strong opinion, loving mother and awesome grandma), of Nampa, formerly of Homedale, Idaho, was born September 17, 1927 in Weiser, Idaho, to Allen “Spud” and Jesse (Butts) Murphy. She was raised in Homedale, graduating from Homedale High School in 1945. After graduation she went on to business school. Tomi married Morse L. Bidwell February 14, 1946. They had two sons Allen and Rick. Tomi and Morse were later divorced. In 1980 she met and married Harold “Mick” Craven. They were later divorced. Tomi worked as a bookkeeper. First, keeping books for her dad, Spud, when they owned Murphy Oil Company. She then went to work for Rife, Wilson and Pezybylski, later working for Jim Duncan and finishing her career working for Parker and Drum. She also volunteered at the Homedale Senior Citizen Center and Homedale Presbyterian Church. Tomi was preceded in death by her parents, both ex-husbands and in 1990 her son Rick, (whom she missed very much) and so many friends that it would be hard to name them all. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Allen and Cindy Bidwell, grandson Shane (Cindi), granddaughters Jennifer, Theresa and Susan, 8 great-grandchildren, (Alyssa, Amanda, Alex, Bayley, Kyra, Kayla, Kalista and Chello), 3 great-great-grandchildren (Aunaliyah, Veda and Aahna) and Eric, whom she considered a grandson. Contributions in Tomi’s memory may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, Homedale, Idaho, or a charity of your choice. A Celebration of Tomi’s life will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, March 12th at the First Presbyterian Church, 320 N. 6th Street, Homedale, Idaho Condolences can be given at www.flahifffuneralchapel.com Service Information
