Flahiff Funeral Chapels & Crematory-Caldwell
Gary Lewis Raymond
January 24th, 1947 - January 14th, 2016
Gary Lewis Raymond 68, of Nampa Idaho left this earth January 14, 2016, to fulfill his lifelong quest to be with his Heavenly Father. His passing was peaceful and filled with love, surrounded by his family. His kind heart and generous soul will never be forgotten. Born to Wesley (Jack) Lewis Raymond and Evelyn Louise Raymond (Dilley) in Caldwell, ID. Gary resided with his younger brothers, Roger Lynn and Robert (Bobby) Lee. Gary attended Van Buren school until 1957, when the family moved to Lowman, Idaho. Gary loved Lowman, the outdoors, and the family cabin. In 1960 the family moved to Middleton, Idaho where Gary attended Middleton High. Gary was an incredible athlete and played football, baseball, and wrestled. His senior year was spent at Boise Christian School where he graduated in 1964. In 1965, Gary wed Judy Stoops of Nampa, Idaho and moved to Rock Island, Illinois where he attended the Bible Missionary Institute seeking a pastoral degree. While attending BMI, his brother Bobby died due to a tragic car accident. The following year his father sadly passed away and Gary, having a true commitment to family, decided to settle down into Caldwell Idaho to stay close to family and help care for his mother. Gary worked for the City of Nampa for many years before he started a church in Nampa, ID (Independent Holiness Chapel). In later years, he took his love and knowledge of cars and started a car business (Gary's Car Country), which was a great success! Gary soon found his love of fishing and duck hunting taking a back seat to his passion for business. Still, his passion was unrivaled to the love he found when his son Brian Lynn Raymond was born in 1970. Gary’s life continued to be enriched. In 1986 Gary wed his current wife Patricia Nadine Raymond of Nampa, Idaho. Gary ecstatically became a father to another son, Kevin Wesley Raymond in June of 1987. He became a step-father to Erica, Mindy and Andy Hanway of Nampa Idaho. Gary valued family above and beyond all else. He treated all of his children with patience and was dependable for sage wisdom. Gary began another business with a dream and only $100 in his pocket. At first he sold parts from a small storage unit. Later, he named his business Parts & Pieces and it became known as one of the larger salvage/auto repair businesses in the valley! Gary kept busy with family and building his business. He had many good times with his wife Patti, going to car shows, building custom rods, participating in the Monster Jam at the Idaho Center, traveling to quick get-aways, and eventually entertaining 16 grandchildren! Gary was a dynamic person, and his qualities shone to the end. He was slow to anger, and quick to forgive. He was always fair and not easily opinionated. He was knowledgeable and hard-working and would always take a man’s word upon a hand-shake. He saw good in mankind. He will be so very missed. A Viewing will be held on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 from 4:00 PM -6:00 PM at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell. The Memorial service to celebrate Gary’s life will be held at 3:00 pm Thursday the 21st of January at Midway Bible Church in Caldwell Idaho. Friends are invited to pay their respects at this time.
