Mary Evelyn Watson, 85, passed away in her home surrounded by her family on March 2, 2015. Mary was born to Richard and Ethel Quick on April 1, 1929 at home (The Evelyn Place) near Homedale. She lived and grew up with her sister, Grace Barnett. In 1946 she met Bill Watson while attending the Homedale Nazarene Church in which they were later married on August 18, 1947. Together while working the Watson Farm, Bill and Mary raised five children. Mary enjoyed camping, one of her favorite places was Leslie Gulch. She also enjoyed long drives across scenic Idaho. Mary was an active member of the Homedale Nazarene Church for 64 years. She was the Sunday School Secretary, Missionary President, and was in charge of VBS crafts for many years. Mary is survived by her husband, Bill, a sister Ellen, and five children; Dick (Beth) Watson, Evelyn Felty, Jack (DeeAnn) Watson, Judy (Jack) Steiner, and Sheryl (Larry) Baldwin, 20 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers and 1 sister, and 2 grandsons. A viewing will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2015 from 5:00 -8:00 pm at Flahiff Funeral Chapel (27 E. Owyhee) in Homedale. A celebration of her life will be held at the Mountain View Nazarene Church, 26515 Ustick Rd. Wilder, Idaho on Friday, March 6, 2015 at 10:30 am. Burial will follow at Marsing-Homedale Cemetery, Marsing. The family would like to extend a special thank you to United Hospice and Emilee Miles for their excellent care of Mary.
