Boyd Morgan Burton
October 30th, 1934 - February 23rd, 2018
Boyd Morgan Burton, age 83, of Homedale Idaho, was born in Fall Brook, California on October 30, 1934 to Clyde and Lillian Burton. Boyd went to rest on Feb 23, 2018 in his home surrounded by loved ones. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde Hawthorn and Lillian Beatrice (Warner) Burton, siblings, Jessie Burton Paige, Nina Burton Hense, Nelly Burton Dubuque, Barbara Burton Hixon. Boyd entered the Air Force at the age of 17. He served in the Korean War as an equipment operator, and then a document currier between Commanding Officers, many times flying in a Piper cub. The Pilot would let him fly, but he said he could never push it down enough to land. Out of the Military at 21 he met and married the love of his life Avlys Rollins, after only 21 days of courtship. They Married July 21, 1956 in Cove Oregon, followed by their four children. Working on farms, surviving 6 back injuries and truck driving covered nearly 40 years of his life. He did mechanical work on many of the family’s cars, did engine conversions in six Willy’s flat fender Jeeps, also race cars and built 3 bus con-versions. For 13 years they traveled to Arizona during the winter. He was Moral and true to the core. He was baptized with Avlys by his side at the Swimming Pool in Cove Oregon by Pastor Don Kack of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in May of 2003. Four Grandchildren joined him that day, Holly Burton, April, Abby and Dustin Woelk. What a day that was for the Kingdom of Jesus Christ. He and spent the last 5 years in Homedale Idaho. He is survived by his only brother Donald Burton-Collet; his wife Avlys and all their descendants. Their children: Donald Burton, Cindy and (Mark) Clelland, Rick and (Penny) Burton, Patsy and (Hans) Woelk, and Kathy Baker-Burton. Burton Grandchildren: Boyd and (Angela) Burton-Smyth, Laurie and (Dana) Smyth Doody, Amanda and (Clinton) Duffield, Jennifer Burton- Hunt, Chris and (Christy) Clelland, Michelle and (Kevin) Potter, Nick and (Faith) Clelland, Brandon Burton and (Christine McAllister), Holly Burton, Jonathon Woelk, April and (Tevis) Cox, Abagail and (James) Cowan, Dustin Woelk. Great grandchildren; Brandon & Kaitlynn Smyth, Austin Skidgil, Alex, Erin and Nathan Duffield, Owen & Baylee Clelland, Tyler, Rachael, Kyle and Garrett Potter, Belladora & Rolland Burton, Katelynn, Khloe and Hannah Cowan. Memorial Service: Garnet Seventh Day Adventist Church 16613 Garnet Rd. Wilder, ID (Off Homedale Rd) On Thursday March 8th at 4 pm Graveside Service / Internment / Military Honor & Flag Presentation Cove Cemetery Cove Oregon Saturday March 10th at 11:00 am Memorial Service to follow in La Grande, Oregon New Hope Worship Center 2630 Bearco Loop La Grande, OR Saturday March 10th at 1:00 pm
