Ethel A. Johnson, 88, of Homedale, passed away at a Homedale care center surrounded by her family. Ethel was born to Fred and Rose Buckley. She was raised on the family farm outside of Marsing, ID. She met and married Gordon Larsen and had one son Larry. After divorcing, she married Gerald “Bill” Johnson. They had one son Ronald and one daughter, Debra. She raised their 3 children in Marsing, ID. Ethel was a great cook and waitress all of her working years. She worked at numerous restaurants, in the Homedale and Marsing areas including Shadow’s, Millie’s, Renee’s and Homedale Drive Inn just to name a few. She was well known for her homemade pies. Her other love was family. She always hosted the Christmas Eve dinner at her place with a prime rib dinner and there was no excuse not to be there. Ethel also went out of her way to help people. She had many friends who she would always open her home to until they could get back on their feet and find a place of their own. Ethel is survived by her three children, Larry (Loretta) Larsen of Kuna, Ronald (Judy Olsen) Johnson of Homedale, and Debra (Larry) Ford of Caldwell; two brothers, Roy (Wilma) Buckley of Marsing and George (Wilma) Buckley of Marsing, seven grandchildren: Simone Larsen of Nampa, Johnny (Miren Vicandi) Ford of Caldwell, Chris (Kristi) Ford of Homedale, Alanna (Bret) Kimmel of Middleton, Caleb Johnson of Boise, Cody Johnson of Boise. nine great- grandchildren: Tyler, Trevor, Cody, Zarah, Karah, Charlie, Shane, Arora, and Adelä. Also numerous nieces and nephews, and “adopted” family. Ethel’s graveside service will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at 2:30 PM at the Marsing-Homedale Cemetery.
