Guadalupe Calderon Valdez passed away Friday morning, February 7, 2014, at home in Caldwell. A viewing and Rosary will be held on Thursday Feb 13, 2014, at Flahiff Funeral Chapel from 5 to 8PM. Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Valley on Friday Feb 14, 2014 at 10:30AM. Graveside services will follow at Canyon Hill Cemetery, Caldwell. Grandma Lupe, as she was known by all, was born Jan 31, 1935, in Big Spring, TX. She was the youngest with 8 brothers. She married Mr. Guadalupe Perez Valdez in 1956 and had 7 children together. Luzdivina “Lucy” (Zoilo) Navarrete, Guadalupe E. Valdez Jr. (Alma), America Vazquez, Geronimo (Tina) Valdez, Noe (Valencia) Valdez, Argentina Valdez-Cruz, Marina Alzalde. A total of 19 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. In November 1982, she met Filiberto Reyes Juarez who would be her partner and companion until the moment she passed. Since retiring from Simplots, their past time was playing poker and dominos. If there was a plate of enchiladas, and for example there was 7, they would play cards to see who was going to get the extra one. Grandma Lupe was always surrounded by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, never a dull, quiet moment at her house, but she loved it that way. Abuelita, te queremos y te extrañamos, gracias por todo el tiempo que estuvo con nosotros. Que Descanse En Paz. Service Information
