Reta Jane Dill
April 27th, 1947 - August 3rd, 2021
Reta Jane Dill went to be with the Lord on Tuesday August 3rd, 2021 at the age of 74. She passed away peacefully at West Valley Medical, in Caldwell, Idaho. Reta was born in Bluefield, West Virginia. to Billy & Betty Johnson. She had 7 brothers and sisters, 3 daughters, 4 step children, 11 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren. Reta had a caring heart and an overflowing love for her family, friends & animals. She loved being a mom, wife, grandma & friend. She touched many lives with her tender heart and giving spirt. Her life was full of ambition. She loved working, camping in the beautiful Idaho mountains, enjoyed going to watch family rodeo, traveling to watch her grandson Austin race motorcycles, & helping with the family business, as the original owners of Valley View Towing. Many people knew Reta from when she worked downtown Caldwell at the Coffee Cup or in the Pharmacy at Walmart. She constantly put others needs in front of her own and came home exhausted but eager to be a doting and faithful wife. Living life big was important to her. Because she couldn’t sit still, she was often caught doing something special for her friends & family, like bringing treats and flowers to them. Always willing to be someone’s bonus grandma. She often hosted parties and Sunday dinners. She made the best homemade chicken noodle and mashed potato dinner around. Animals were a big part of her life. Reta enjoyed the company of her dogs and cats very much. She loved to be in her favorite camp spot in Lost Lake in the spring to see all the baby fawns & to watch her crazy dogs chase chipmunks. Reta is survived by daughters Delia Louise Sheppard & her husband Tom, Jerri Lynn Smith, Sheila Ann McCurdy, her step sons, Christopher Kinsey Smith & his wife Becky, Brian Dill & his wife Carlea. Her siblings, Elizabeth Adams “Libby”, Billy Grat Johnson Jr., Anita Marie Fuller “Ann”, Sandra Sue Stanley “Susie”. She was blessed with 11 Grandchildren, Austin James McCurdy, Jill Selene Chandler, Keri Kay Smith, Amber Nicole Biggs, Jessica Louise Sheppard, Thomas Jefferson Sheppard the 3rd, Jade Justine Matis, Tanna Ann Lilley, Brittani Dill, Justin Dill & Alina Dill. Reta was also blessed with 10 Great Grandchildren. Kaylee Jane Blakenship, Kinsey Kay Blankenship, Keira Marie Biggs, Bradyn Allen Biggs, Shamus Lee Sheppard, Michael Lee Picou, James Chandler, Sheigh Wright, Isabella Rose Sheppard & Thomas Jefferson Sheppard the 4th.
