Shirley Louise Cosby
February 8th, 1940 - July 5th, 2021
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Shirley Louise Cosby. Shirley passed away on July 5, 2021 at home with family at the age of 81. Shirley was born February 8, 1940 to Walter and Myrtle Brannock in Cincinnati, Ohio. She met the love of her life, Tom Cosby, in 1956. They were married May 17, 1958. Shirl was a LPN while raising 7 children. In 1974, while Tom was working construction Shirl was looking for a house to raise the kids in. She found our home in Sandhollow. She loved our home. We had many animals while growing up. Shirl was an exceptional wife, mother, and homemaker. Mom went on to get her nursing degree, and became a RN in 1989 becoming a ICU/CCU RN. She loved being a RN, retiring in 2000 she and dad came home to Sandhollow where they continued to have many animals and work on the farm. Mom was a great helper to dad. She will be greatly missed by her husband of 63 years, Tom, and her children; Pam Dennis, Cheryl (Mike) Pruett, Shelbee (Carlos) Cosby, Tanya Cosby, and sister Carol Polhlmeyer. Many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sons, Tom and Jeff Cosby. We would like to thank Canyon Home Health for their care of Shirley. Tom and Tanya felt it was a privilege to care for Shirl these last few years. Mom you will be greatly missed. We love you so much. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at 11:00 am at Flahiff Funeral Chapel in Caldwell.
