David Fernandez age 78 passed away on Friday, March 17th 2023 with his loving family by his side after a courageous battle with cancer. David was born in McAllen, Texas on June 28, 1944 to Jesus and Alicia Fernandez. In 1963 he moved to Caldwell, Idaho where he started his first job working for Godfrey’s and began his 45 year career in the auto body and paint industry. He married the love of his life, Darlene Adams, on October 28, 2004. They enjoyed many years of hanging out at their favorite place, Eagles Lodge, where they danced and David sang his favorite Karaoke songs. David loved riding his blue scooter around town with his beloved dog Chewee on his lap. He had a nickname for everyone and he was our “Pops”. David is preceded in death by his parents Jesus and Alicia Fernandez, his brothers Rudy Fernandez, Robert Fernandez, and Henry Fernandez, his son David Humberto Fernandez, and his grandsons Tre Dion Fernandez and David Aaron Taylor Fernandez. He is survived by his wife Darlene Fernandez, his daughters Silvia Morrow (Greg), Leti Hebert (Dave), and Rebecca Kinney (Justin), his grandchildren Michele Pannell, Monica Mercado, Ricky Rojas, Anthony Fernandez, Alex Mercado, Shawntee Fernandez, Tyler Garcia Kinney, Johnni Fernandez, Nathan Hebert, Kiersten Kinney, Cash Kinney, and Kyle Ralston, his brother Ricardo Fernandez, his sister Maria Peña, and numerous great grand children, nieces and nephews. A celebration of life will be held later this spring.
