Steven Lund Wood

Steven Lund Wood, 67, of Caldwell, passed away at home on August 24, 2023, after a brief but aggressive battle with cancer. Steve was born in Warrington, England on April 21, 1956, to Robert and Patricia Wood. At 4 months old Steve’s parents packed up him and their belongings and made the month-long trek to their new home in Riverton, Wyoming. Steve had fond memories of growing up in Wyoming where he spent much of his childhood roaming and helping out on his grandparents’ ranch. In 1971 Steve’s parents brought him and his three younger siblings to Caldwell, Idaho. He worked for his father at Woody’s Tree Service until he took over ownership in 1997. Steve was a knowledgeable arborist with over 48 years of experience in the field. After selling Woody’s in 2008, Steve joined the crew at Parker Tree Service where he ended up developing a strong friendship with owner, Justin Parker. Steve spent most of his Sundays at the golf course with some of his best friends. He could also be found socializing at Caldwell Bowl or dancing at the Caldwell Elks Lodge. We will miss Steve’s sense of humor, lack of filter, and his ability to show affection through a playful but solid punch in the arm. Thank you to the staff of St. Luke’s ICU, 4 South, and hospice for the care and compassion you provided Steve in his final month of life. He is survived by his partner, Vicki; his children Daniel (Jenny) Wood, Kevin Wood, Timothy (Rachael) Wood, Stephanie (Nick) Lee, and Samantha (Jackson) Wood; his siblings David (Liesa) Wood, Connie (Bill) Craig, and DeLynn Wanders; his 9 grandchildren; his bonus kids Joe (Jolene) Davis, Andrea (Bret) Bott, and their children; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Patricia; his grandparents Cecil, Edna, Leo, and Maud; and his best friend, Steve Santiago. To honor Steve’s memory, we are holding a celebration of life on September 23, 2023, at Caldwell Elks Lodge from 2pm-4pm. We invite anyone who knew him to attend.
