Velma "Louise" Squibb

Louise Squibb left this world Oct. 29 to join her heavenly family. Louise was a loving mom, devoted wife, and friend to everyone she met. If the legacy of a person’s life is measured by enriching the lives of others, then mom achieved this fully. She married the love of her life, Jim Squibb, on her fifteenth birthday and together they raised two children, Kathy (Tony) Doramus and Jim (Theresa) Squibb who survive her along with a sister Myrtle Larson of Caldwell, eight grandkids, 21 great grandkids, and 3 great-great grandkids. Mom and dad laughed, loved, traveled, and lived life to the fullest for 62 years until dad’s untimely death in 2010. Mom held numerous jobs in the Caldwell area but her job as a hostess at McDonalds was a favorite. While there she instituted morning bingo where many old friends gathered, and new friends were made. Always serving others, mom later was an usher during performances at the Nampa Civic Center and for years was a faithful volunteer at the Caldwell Senior Center. Mom was a wonderful cook but especially known for her homemade finger steaks and pies. Born Velma Louise Squibb on November 4, 1932, near Dora, Missouri, Louise is preceded in death by her husband Jim, their son Roger Lee, parents Charley and Anna Lowe, a brother Oliver Lowe, two sisters Inez Hinshaw and Wilma Sherbet, a granddaughter Amy Doramus, and great-granddaughter Shelby Ann Liszak. All services are at Flahiff Funeral Chapel in Caldwell, with a viewing on Nov. 6 from 4-6 p.m. and the funeral on Nov. 7 at 10 a.m.
