Phyllis Ann (Peterson Walsh) Hoadley of Marsing, Idaho passed away peacefully on December 29, 2023. Phyllis Ann Hoadley was born to Ira and Dorothy Peterson on April 1, 1942. Phyllis Ann was one of four siblings. She was a graduate of Caldwell High School, and married David Calvin Hoadley on November 21, 1959. They moved to Grandview for a short time before returning to the family farm below Lake Lowell. After returning to the farm, she then focused on raising her son, David Andrew, and Daughter Heather Ann while working alongside her husband on the farm. Phyllis Ann was a beloved mother, sister, aunt, grandma and friend to all around her. In 1982 David and Phyllis moved the family a short distance to Marsing, Idaho on the banks of the Snake River, and later added ground between Caldwell and Homedale on a farm homesteaded by Phyllis Ann’s grandmother. Phyllis Ann had a passion for volunteering and helping in her community. She helped to start the Lizard Butte Library in Marsing and represented Owyhee County for the “Idaho Centennial” events in Boise. She had a love for gardening, bird watching and her animals, which she shared with her grandchildren. Phyllis Ann took pride in being a farm wife and was celebrated with her family as “Farm Family of the Year '' for Canyon County in the late 70’s. David and Phyllis were both involved in many agriculture organizations throughout their lives together. They both were in the first graduating class of Leadership Idaho Agriculture. Phyllis Ann and David loved to dance and spent many hours with their friends at the Elks dancing the night away. As parents and grandparents, Phyllis Ann and David were always to be counted on at every sporting event and extracurricular activity, often traveling to Washington for their grandson’s events. Phyllis is survived by her children, David Andrew (Debbie) Hoadley, Heather Ann (Greg) Hale, Grandchildren Tyler (Kelsey) Hoadley, Brandon (Karley) Hoadley, Holly and Hannah Hale, Great Grandchildren, Ember and Layla Hoadley, and Calvin Newman, as well as her siblings, Connie and Roger.
