Shirley Eileen Watson, age 77, entered Heaven's portals on July 25, 2020. Shirley was born in Ashland, Washington and later moved to Seattle as a teen-ager. She began attending the Bible Missionary Church in Seattle where Rev. Don Bowman was pastoring. Through the Bowmans, she was introduced David Watson in 1961. In Feb 1963, Shirely and David were married, and they enjoyed the farm life for five years. God called David Watson to preach in 1968, so they sold their portion of the farm, and moved to Lewiston, Idaho to pastor. After three years pastoring in Lewiston, the Watsons received a call to missions and were sent to represent God and the Bible Missionary Church in Mexico. Although Shirley did not have a specific call to the ministry, she knew that God called her to support the ministry of her husband. Shirley was a blessing to the work in Mexico. She was able to learn Spanish in about 5 months and began translating the Sunday School literature into Spanish. She continued this ministry for over 20 years. She also served as an interpreter for American evangelists and began teaching in the Bible School in Mexico when it opened in 1979. Her music, including singing and playing the piano, was a marked blessing to services and camp meetings both in Mexico and the U.S. After their 20 years of service in Mexico, the Watsons pastored in Ontario Oregon for about 20 years. The Watsons retired in Boise, Idaho. God blessed the Watson home with five wonderful children: Katherine Watson, Susan (& Riquis) Perez, Margaret (& John) Todd, William (& Laura Susana) Watson, and David (& Kim) Watson. Shirley is survived by her husband David, 5 children, 26 grand-children, and 23 great gran d-children. She is also survived by her brother, Richard (& Bonnie) Cresse and a host of nephews, nieces and friends. Shirley suffered greatly through the last few years, but now is well and rejoicing around the throne.
