Matthew Allen Hickey
April 2nd, 1971 - June 1st, 2017
Matthew Allen Hickey, 46, went home to be with the Lord, June 1, 2017; he was raised in New Plymouth. Matthew was an avid runner and held the 1600m record at New Plymouth High School for numerous years. After graduation, he joined the Navy. He was honorably discharged in 1994; he later served in the National Guard. Matthew spent his life helping others. Even in death Matt continued to help others by the gift of organ donation. Matthew is survived by his wife Donna; son Josh Williams (Nicole); grandson Noah; stepson Christian Henirquez; parents Milt and Phyllis Hickey; brothers Paul (Beth) and Mark (Agnes); sisters Debra Mark (Bert) and Leah Felthoff (DeWayne); numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends. "We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord." 2 Corinthians 5:8 KJV. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project by going to http://www.support.woundedwarriorproject.org. Services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday, June 8th at Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, 329 S Plymouth Ave New Plymouth, burial will follow at Park View Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, New Plymouth. Condolences may be made to the family at www.shaffer-jensenchapel.com. Service Details.
