Retha Rowena Linder Pearson

Retha Rowena (Linder) Pearson, 90, of Payette, passed away Saturday, Jan. 23, 2016 at The Cottages of Payette. Retha was born to Tom and Hazel (Westfall) Linder of Midvale, ID, Nov. 9, 1925. In her younger years she loved to walk over the hills from one uncles' place to the other. When Retha reached high school age the family moved to Payette, ID. She attended Payette High School, where she played basketball. Not long after high school she met and married Scott Pearson on March 12, 1945. Scott was a partner at May Trucking Co. and Retha worked at the Blue Bird Caf�, while their three children (Sallie, Ralph, and Margaret) were growing up. In 1967 Scott and Retha purchased the A&W restaurant in Payette. They operated the A&W until they retired in 1983. Scott passed away in 1985. Retha lived on her own until she moved to The Cottages in Payette in 2011. Retha was preceded in death by her father and mother, husband and brother. She is survived by her sister, Letha Worley of Payette, ID; her three children, Sallie Boberg of Crystal Lake, IL, Ralph and Pam Pearson of Boise, ID, and Margaret and Jim Boyer of Payette, ID; seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A viewing will be held from 3 - 6 p.m., Friday, Jan. 29th at Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 30th at Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Payette.
