Dan was born in Pomona, California to Dewey Richard Davis and Marilyn June Davis on July 27, 1960. Dan attended Meridian high school and immediately joined the army where he was stationed at Schoffield base in Hawaii. After serving four years in the army, Dan then joined the Coast Guard where he was stationed at Cape May, New Jersey. Dan was married to Florence "Poe" Williams on April 8, 2011 in Payette. Dan and his wife resided in New Plymouth until the time of his passing. Dan had a great love of his country and was very proud to have served in both the Army and Coast Guard. He also was a big animal lover and avid reader. He is survived by; his loving wife Poe, his sister Cheryl and husband Larry West of Eagle, nephew Richard West and niece Elizabeth West of Eagle, father-in-law Dean Foster of Wilder, aunts, Lois Davis, Kathleen Carland and Sheila Whiting, uncles James Carland and Jack Carland along with numerous cousins. He is also survived by life time friend Tracy and honorary daughters Kelsey and Cortney Verbanac. Dan is preceded in death by his parents. The family would like to express their gratitude for the compassionate care that Dan received while in the Boise Veteran's hospital ICU unit by the nurses and doctors. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 21, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Bible Baptist Church in Payette followed by graveside services at 11:30 a.m. at Riverside Cemetery, Payette.
