Patricia Laura Banes "Patti" Frates
February 11th, 1932 - July 28th, 2013
Patricia L. "Patti" Frates, passed away of natural causes at her home in Fruitland on July 28, 2013. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, Aug. 2nd at Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette. Services and arrangements are under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette. Condolences may be made to Patti's family at www.shaffer-jensenchapel.com. Patti was born in Leavenworth, KS on Feb. 11, 1932 to Floyd and Frances Banes. Her family moved to Payette in 1934. Patti grew up in Payette where she went to school and graduated in 1950. She married Delbert "Bud" Frates on July 22, 1950 in Payette and to their union three daughters was born. Bud and Patti lived in the Fruitland area for 63 years. Patti worked for Payette County for approximately 30 years and retired in 1993. After retirement, Patti volunteered with Help Them to Hope for 10 years. Patti was preceded in death by her parents, Floyd and Frances Banes; a sister, Virginia Martin; and a great grandson, Keegan Shoemaker. She is survived by her husband Delbert "Bud" Frates; daughters, Karen Sells (David) of Nampa, Diane Carlman of Nampa, and Debra Pettis of Fruitland; five grandchildren, Brandi Shoemaker, Dan Sells, Cody Carlman, Jordan Carlman, and Nicholas Kubal; a brother, Byron Banes (Connie) of Washington; and a sister, Adeline Walker (William) of Middleton. The family would like to extend special thanks to the people of Heart �n Home Hospice for their help, care and kindness. Service Details.
