Lois Darlene Rynearson Douglas, 73, of Payette, passed away unexpectedly from the effects of COPD on Friday, July 26, 2013 at home. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, Aug. 2nd at the LDS Church, 501 S. Iowa Ave., Payette. Condolences may be made to Lois' family at www.shaffer-jensenchapel.com. Cremation is under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Payette. Lois was born Oct. 8, 1939 to Charles and Agnes (Milburn) Rynearson in Emmett, ID, the sixth of nine children. She told wonderful stories of her childhood and the fun she had growing up in the Emmett Valley. Lois married Robert W. Douglas of Emmett on July 26, 1956 in Emmett. Together they raised a family of four sons and one daughter, all born in Emmett. The family moved to Boise and then to Portland, OR before settling in the Payette area permanently in 1969. Lois loved listening to music while she sewed. She made hundreds of original doll lamps and learned to upholstery. Lois enjoyed creating beautiful handcrafted items and decorating wedding cakes. She worked in retail, making many friends. In 1992, Lois and Robert made the decision to care for their daughter who had suffered an aneurysm and stroke, becoming guardians of her four children. Lois received her CNA license and learned all she could about brain injury. Family meant everything to Lois. She had the gift of making a person feel at ease, discuss their cares and resolve the issue at hand. Lois and Robert opened their hearts and home to many over the years. Lois is survived by her husband of 57 years, Robert W. Douglas; four sons, Kurt D. Douglas of Payette, Clifford O. and Rebecca (Merrill) Douglas of Ontario, Charles W.
