Judy May Garner-Clason, 54, of Fruitland, passed away March 24, 2012 peacefully at home after a long battle with cancer. A Rosary will be held at 7 p.m., Wednesday, March 28th at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Fruitland. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m., Thursday, March 29th at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Fruitland. Cremation is under the direction of Shaffer-Jensen Memory Chapel, Fruitland. Condolences may be made to Judy's family at www.shaffer-jensenchapel.com. Judy was born Nov. 4, 1957, in Rupert, ID to the late William Thomas Garner and Beverly Garner McCabe. Judy was involved in 4-H where she painted, sewed, cooked and raised livestock and won many awards. She graduated from Fruitland High School in 1976 and married Fred R. Sleight; they had two children, Ryan A Sleight and Renee A. (Sleight) Rentie. She worked at Holy Rosary Hospital in Ontario, OR, American Fine Foods in Payette, ID, and her latest job was at SkyWays Airlines in Milwaukee, WI from 1999-2001. Judy married David C. Clason in 1997 and they resided in Fruitland next door to her parent's house, Peter and Beverly McCabe. Judy enjoyed making beautiful beaded jewelry and loved cooking, collecting rocks, gardening, and spending time with her grandchildren and her little dog, Tulo. She also enjoyed spending time outside in her yard overlooking the Snake River and her beautiful rose garden. Judy is preceded in Heaven by her father, William Thomas Garner and her youngest sister, Kate Marie Garner-Stoffer. Survivors include husband, David C. Clason, mother and step-father, Beverly Garner McCabe and Peter J. McCabe, and a uncle, Paul McCabe, all of Fruitland; father and mother-in-law, Carrol and Wilma Clason of Ontario; son and daughter-in-law, Ryan and Patricia Sleight of Wasilla, AK; daughter and son-in-law, Renee A. (Sleight) and James J. Rentie III of Port Orchard, WA; step-son, David L. Clason and wife Amy; grandchildren, Ramiah J. Rentie, Joren J. Rentie IV, Thomas F. Sleight, and Emily S. Sleight; sisters, Cindy (Garner) and Andre Tyson of Bothell, WA, Patricia J. (Garner) and Bruce Pook of Kennewick, WA; brother-in-law, Jeff Stoffer of Indianapolis, IN; nieces and nephews include, Candice M. Haines, Sam D. Stoffer, Valerie N. Stoffer, D'Marques Tyson, Cameron L. Tyson, Danielle L. Pook, and Jordan M. Pook; and many other brother and sister in-laws, nieces and nephews on husband David Clason's side. A special thanks to her many dear friends who were by her side and helped her through this struggle. With special thanks to Valerie and Monty Olsen and Josie Webster, who lifted her spirits and always made her smile. Service Details.
