January 13th, 1940 - August 25th, 2018
Michael McSweeney (Uncle Mike) 78 of Ontario, Oregon passed away, Wednesday morning August, 9, 2018 at his home surrounded by family. Uncle Mike was born January 13,1940 in Wakefield, Michigan to Grover and Florence (Owens) McSweeney. In 1947, Grover and Florence moved the family from Michigan to Portland, OR. Although he was adventurous and usually didn’t stay in one city long; Michael lived in many North Western States. He met the love of his life, Irma Wilson in Portland Oregon. In 1983 after the passing of his parents. He and Irma settled in Ontario, Or. He enjoyed returning back to Portland, OR to see relatives and his old stomping grounds where he would share old stories (of which usually always started with “This place here used to be all orchards…” His hobbies included card games with family and friends, as well as fishing the rivers and lakes of Oregon He is survived by his sister Debbie McSweeney (Mann) of (Boring Oregon) nephew Michael McSweeney of Ontario Oregon, niece (David) Shawna Halley of Ontario Oregon, Kasey of Boise, Idaho niece Lacey Cross of Wright City, MO and many other nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Grover and Florence and siblings James, Johnny, Betty, Grover, Lena, David and his loving companion of 30 years Irma Wilson. There will be a celebration of life in his honor at the Ontario Elks Lodge (20 Sw 3rd St Ontario, Oregon 97914) on Aug 25, 2018 at 2pm. Arrangements and Cremation by Lienkaemper Chapel, Ontario.

For over 100 years, the Lienkaemper Funeral Chapel has served the Ontario, Oregon, community with professional, compassionate care. Our story begins in 1907 when the Peterson family, who owned a furniture store in Ontario, helped with funeral arrangements and sold caskets from the store’s basement. Over the years, the business has grown and had a number of owners, partnerships and names. Among them was our current namesake, the Lienkaemper family, who purchased the family funeral home with the mission of helping families in the Ontario community. ...
