Janie Anne Houston, 69, of Nyssa Oregon passed away in her home surrounded by her sons on Wednesday, November 17, 2021. She was born in Ontario, Oregon on December 5, 1951 to Thomas and Alice Farley. She was a graduate of Ontario High School in 1970. She married the love of her life, James Houston on August 22, 1970. They were married 40 years until Jim’s passing in 2010. They lived and raised their four sons, Kelly, Shane, Adam and Tom in Nyssa, Oregon. She loved telling stories of the adventures of raising four sons , five – if you include their dad. She is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband and her youngest son, Tom. She is survived by her sons, Kelly, Shane and Adam along with their wives and 15 grandchildren. Janie loved spending time with her family which included watching all of her sons’ sporting events as they grew and continued to watch her grandchildren’s sports as well. She loved to crochet and create in her craft room. She also loved spending time with her childhood best friend, Sandy. Services will be held on December 2, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. at Lienkaemper’s Funeral Chapel – 78 NW 1st Ave, Ontario, Oregon 97914

Our story begins in 1907 when the Peterson family, who owned a furniture store in Ontario, helped with funeral arrangements and sold caskets from the store’s basement. Over the years, the business has grown and had a number of owners, partnerships and names. Among them was our current namesake, the Lienkaemper family, who purchased the family funeral home with the mission of helping families in the Ontario community. ...
