Christine "Chris" Cleaver
December 4th, 1953 - December 19th, 2023
Christine (Chris) Reece Cleaver of Nyssa, OR, passed away surrounded by family on Tuesday December 19th at the age of 70 years old. She was born December 4th, 1953, to Kenneth Reece and Audra Hendricks Reece in Nyssa, OR. Chris attended school in Nyssa, OR where she met her high school sweetheart, Kirk Cleaver. Kirk and Chris married on December 17th,1971, Chris and Kirk went on to have 3 children, Dirk, Riley, and Drew Cleaver. They had been married for 52 years. A loving mother and homemaker, Chirs was a remarkable cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family and friends, most especially over the holidays. She was a dedicated sports fan and attended many wrestling tournaments and baseball games as well. Her hobbies included hunting, fishing, cooking, and anything that involved her family being together. Chris was strong willed and stubborn at times, but she also had an enormous heart and wonderful sense of humor. She was generous, loyal, and brave. We will miss her so much. Chris is survived by her husband, Kirk Cleaver. Her sons Dirk and his wife Stephanie, Riley and his girlfriend Angie, and Drew. She is also survived by her 11 grandchildren, Kelsie (Micheal), Shyann (August), Shelbie, Andrew, Blake (Taylor), Sierra, Alexis, Harley, Ethan, Haylee, and Reata. She had two great grandchildren, Weston Edwards and Rankyn Haueter. Chris is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Sharlene. Per the request of Chris there will be no funeral arrangements. Regarding flowers please send a donation in memory of Chris to the cancer society.

For over 100 years, the Lienkaemper Funeral Chapel has served the Ontario, Oregon, community with professional, compassionate care. Our story begins in 1907 when the Peterson family, who owned a furniture store in Ontario, helped with funeral arrangements and sold caskets from the store’s basement. Over the years, the business has grown and had a number of owners, partnerships and names. Among them was our current namesake, the Lienkaemper family, who purchased the family funeral home with the mission of helping families in the Ontario community. ...
