Dennis H. Hill August 2, 1947 – April 8, 2024
Dennis H. Hill, age 76, passed away on his own accord peacefully in his home with his loving wife by his side on Monday morning of April 8th. He resided in Mountain Home, ID and was formerly from New Holstein, WI & Crystal Valley, MI. He was born on August 2, 1947, to Lillian M. (LaPorte) Hill & Howard N. Hill. As a child he helped the family business of custom crop farmers and log/pulp harvesting. He graduated from Pentwater High School. Following graduation, he joined the United States Air Force from 1966 to 1970 (Honorable Discharge) as a Sergeant E-5 Ground Power Source Technician (A.G.E.) and served his country during the Vietnam Conflict. He married Anita L. (Hawkins) Hill on February 21, 1970, in Mountain Home, ID. After serving in the Air Force Dennis and Anita moved to Wisconsin in 1972. They welcomed their first child Jennifer A. Hill in May of 1974 and their second child Jeremy M. Hill in May of 1977. Dennis raised rabbits, chickens, pigs and cows for the family when they were younger. He loved to snowmobile, hunt, and fish. He was a member of Kiel Rifle & Pistol Club where he taught the younger kids how to compete and also competed in matches himself. He was a WI DNR Hunter Education Instructor for 16 plus years and WI DNR Certified International Bowhunter Instructor and was enrolled in the first course in WI. He took extra classes at Lakeshore Technical College in Manitowoc to further his education in pursuit of an Associates in Supervision Management. He worked in maintenance at Stoelting in Kiel, Sunrise Medical in Oshkosh, and retired from Eden Stone Quarry in Eden. He loved to spend time with his family and enjoyed traveling through the states to see his family and in-laws. He made sure his kids saw many landmarks in the U.S. He was good at getting into mischief so he could make people smile. He loved talking to people and meeting new people. He loved to help people in need that he cared about in life. His stories and personality will be deeply missed by his family and those that knew him.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents Lillian M. (LaPorte) Hill & Howard N. Hill, his brother Douglas L. Hill. He is survived by his wife, Anita L. Hill (ID), his daughter Jennifer A. Hill, his son Jeremy M. Hill and his grandson Zachary Hill (WI). His two nieces, Brenda L. Hawkins (GA) and Debra A. Hawkins (WI). And his younger brother Alan H. Hill (MI).
There is no wake or funeral services. There will be a Celebration of Life at the time of burial in Mountain View Cemetery, Mountain Home, ID. Cards can be sent to PO Box 1057, Mountain Home, ID 83647
