Steven Troy Montoya

Steven Troy Montoya, 53 passed away peacefully March 18th, 2024.  He is survived by his mother, Ione; Stepdad/Pop, David; Sister, Melissa; niece, Gianna; Uncle, Joe; Aunt, Dawn; and cousins, Larry, Josh, Danielle, Lenora and Amber.

Steven had a great sense of humor and was always cracking jokes, smiling and lighting up a room with his sharp wit and personality.  He befriended so many and was fiercely loyal to all he loved.  He had a unique quality that made you feel special and loved from the moment he met you and those qualities are the memories he leaves with all of us. 

Steven touched the lives of many along his journey.  He was incredibly talented and creative.  His love of music and the fact that he had a beautiful voice wasn't surprising when he became the lead singer in a band.  He loved entertaining and performing.  He was also an incredibly talented artist.  His pencil drawings were beautifully detailed reflections of his love of music, sports and personal insight. 

He enjoyed years of rock climbing at El Dorado Canyon as well as hiking in Chautauqua Park in Boulder.  

His family and friends knew his love of sports was his favorite passion and pastime.  He was a Denver Bronco, Denver Nuggets and Colorado Avalanche super fan.  His sports memorabilia were among his most treasured possessions.  

For the last several years Steve spent his vacations in Florida with his sister and niece.  He fell in love with the ocean, beach and sunsets. This was paradise to him and it was his dream to move there and be close to his family.  

He will be forever in our hearts.

A celebration of his life will be held in Florida, June 8, 2024
