Debra Graham

Deb passed away at Peace Health Medical Center – RiverBend from a brain hemorrhage. She was born in Boulder, Colorado to George C. and Maralyn J. Atkins. The family later moved to Canoga Park, California and eventually to Newbury Park, California where she graduated from Newbury Park High School in 1970. Deb worked for Capital Records and volunteered for the United Service Organizations (USO) where she met the “love of her life” in 1971, Mark Graham, who was serving in the US Air Force. Mark and Deb were married on May 27, 1972. Upon completion of his active duty status, Mark and Deb moved to Eugene, Oregon. In 1981, Deb started working in the “radio business” as a receptionist. She worked her way up to Traffic Manager and eventually Business Manager for several stations. She worked for KSND, KAVE, and Cumulus Media until 2005. In 2008, Deb found the “job of her dreams” as the receptionist for Datalogic ADC where she remained until her death. Deb’s two daughters, Jennifer and Jessica, were her shining lights but her real passion was for her grandson Mikah whom she loved beyond words. Deb is survived by her husband Mark, her daughters Jennifer (John Wilcox), Jessica and grandson Mikah, mother Maralyn Atkins, sister Dale Russell (Al) all of Eugene, her sisters Dianne Hoffmann (Dick) of Waterford, WI, Dayna Whitmer (Mark) of Hercules, CA, and brothers Kevin Atkins (Therese) of Sparks, NV and Keith Atkins of Grass Valley, CA. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father George, nephew Matthew and grandson Marcus. The family requests that In lieu of flowers, donations be made in her name to the USO (www.USO.org/donate). The family would also like to thank the doctors and nurses at Peace Health – RiverBend, especially the ICU staff, for the care, compassion and love that they provided to Deb in her last days and to the family. A memorial service will be held at West Lawn Memorial Park Chapel, 225 S Danebo St. Eugene, OR on Saturday January 11, 2014 at 11:00 am. A Celebration of Life will be held on August 31, 2014.
