Margaret Evelyn Marquardt

Margaret Evelyn Marquardt 95 of Eugene, OR went home to the Lord August 23, 2013. She was born March 24, 1918 in Rolla, ND to John and Mina (Conn) McKay. After graduating from Mankato MN college of Business, Margaret moved to Devils Lake, ND where she was employed as a telephone operator and later worked at the Ramsey County Courthouse. While in Devils Lake she met Howard Marquardt. They were married January 10, 1943 and farmed the Newhouse homestead until 1956 at which time they moved their family to Aneta, ND where Howard managed the Farmer's Union Oil Co. and Margaret was the bookkeeper. In 1959 the family moved to Beaumont, CA where Margaret was employed by Deutsch Co. until her retirement in 1983. The couple retired in Parker, AZ and traveled the entire Continental United States and Canada in their motorhome until Howard's death in 1989. Margaret moved to Las Vegas in 1999 to be close to her son, Curtis. In 2003 she moved to Eugene, OR to live with her daughter, Julie Ann. Margaret enjoyed her faithful service to the Lord through the Lutheran Church as well as her crafts and watercolor painting. Margaret is preceded in death by her husband Howard, sisters, Lucille, Flora (Young), Eileen (Tyo), and brothers, Malcom and Robert, and daughter-in-law Diane Marquardt. She is survived by her son Curtis (Las Vegas, NV), daughter Julie Ann (Eugene, OR), granddaughters, Lisa (Brien) Kinney and Lori (Joe) Stankowski, great-granddaughter, Casey Kinney and several nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at Rest Haven Memorial Park 1:00 pm on Tuesday August 27, 2013. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Aneta Parkview Health Center or Sundahl Lutheran Church Aneta, ND. Arrangements entrusted to Musgrove Family Mortuary.
