Vernon AllenThe funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 14, at Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene for Vernon L. Allen of Eugene, who died Dec. 8 of age-related causes. He was 88. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 14, at the funeral home.He was born May 11, 1924, in Portland to Samuel and Minnie Nelson Allen. He married June Marie Speaks on June 20, 1946, in Portland. She died Nov. 12, 2012.He held a bachelor’s degree from the University of Oregon. He served in the Army during World War II. He was the co-owner and operator of Eugene Building Maintenance Co.Survivors include two sons, Dean of Springfield and Keith of Kalispell, Mont.; a daughter, Lenna Hendershott of Eugene; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.Burial will be at 1:30 p.m., Friday, Dec. 14, at Rest Haven Memorial Park. Arrangements by Musgrove Family Mortuary in Eugene. Remembrances to Tamarack Wellness Center in Eugene.
