Owen MartinA memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Jan. 7 at the First Baptist Church in Eugene for Owen D. “O.D.” Martin of Eugene, who died Dec. 22 following a stroke. He was 93.He was born June 26, 1918, in Huntington, Ohio, to Owen and Bessie Sturgeon Martin. He married Shirley Williams on June 5, 1988, in Kalispell, Mont.He held a bachelor’s degree from Montana State University. He served as an Army second lieutenant in World War II. He worked in sales at Williams Bakery and as a pastor to international students at First Baptist Church.Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Sandra Baer of Creswell and Susan Peterson of Kirkland, Wash.; two sons, Gary of Eugene and Stephen of West Sacramento, Calif.; a sister, Donny Tyree of Kalispell; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.Burial was held at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.
