James L. Franklin DEXTER — A celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 16, at West Lawn Funeral Home in Eugene for James Lee Franklin of Dexter, who died Nov. 6 of kidney failure. He was 74. He was born Sept. 10, 1937, in Long Lane, Mo., to William and Bessie Osburn Franklin. He worked as a heavy equipment operator in the Eugene-Springfield area for more than 20 years. Surviors include a daughter, Colleen Clough of Scottsdale, Ariz.; three sons, John of St. Helens, William of Dexter and Paul of Eugene; three sisters, Maryann Bruce of Noti, Gladys Crabtree of Harrisburg and Betty Haag of Eugene; five brothers, Bill of Kansas, Vernon of Illinois, Wayne of Eugene, and John and Al, both of Springfield; and four grandchildren. Arrangements by West Lawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home in Eugene.
