Joseph Anthony Casertano
January 28th, 1937 - September 4th, 2017
Joseph Anthony Casertano January 28, 1937 - September 4, 2017 Joseph Anthony Casertano, 80 passed away on September 4, 2017. He was born January 28, 1937 in New York, New York and lived in the Bronx for his childhood, teenage, and early adult years. He graduated from Saint Simon Stock School and briefly pursued studies at Saint Albert's Seminary. Lessons in love and desire to be a family man led Joe to find the love of his life, Carol Alice Crowley. Joe and Carol married in New York City in 1964, starting their life-long partnership by opening wedding envelopes to pay for the reception. They moved to Newburgh, New York in 1965 where they welcomed their daughter Patrice, then their first son Joseph, and their second son Paul. In January of 1973 they moved to Northvale, New Jersey. In 1977 the family relocated to Tucson, Arizona. The move stuck. Joe and Carol made a home for their family in the original home they purchased in 1977, where many birthdays, birth announcements, grandchildren sleepovers, weddings, Thanksgivings and holidays were celebrated. He lived in AZ for 40 years where he was a sales agent and operations manager in the transportation industry. Joe's life in Tucson turned him into a lover of nature, a camper, a fisherman, a wearer of Bermuda shorts, an avid golfer, a photographer, a soccer coach, and a lifelong Arizona Wildcat fan. Joe led an unassuming life putting his family first, always striving to be an honorable man of his word, and seeking to lift others before himself. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 52 years, Carol Casertano, his adoring, loving children, Patrice Carder (Michael Carder), Joe Casertano (Andrea Barrett Casertano), Paul Casertano (Carolyn Smith Casertano), and his grandchildren, Thomas and Kathryn Carder, Lucius, Geneva and Calvin Casertano who were all the pride of his life and made him smile and laugh so often. His Service will be held at Corpus Christi Church in Tucson, AZ on Saturday, September 30, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the American Cancer Society in the name of Joseph Casertano, 2015 West River Road, Suite 245, Tucson, AZ 85704. Arrangements by BRING'S BROADWAY CHAPEL.
