Memorial

Richard Earl Steede 84, of Tucson, AZ, passed away on Friday, January 18, 2013 in hospice with his family. He was born on April 13, 1928 in Lansing, MI to the late Richard Earl and Adeline (Hemes) Steede. Richard married the late Ethel Steede on October 16, 1948. Richard served with the U.S. Army for two years. On his return to Escanaba, he drove for Nesbitt and many, many years for Fairmont Foods Co., enjoying long friendships with co-workers. Music was a constant all of Richard’s life, even at the end. He knew people by their special song, especially enjoyed playing the piano and the Hammond organ at the Dells Supper Club and the Terrace. His legacy of music lives on in his CD’s. Richard lived his last 28 years in Tucson, while gathering with friends and family, and enjoying the sunshine. He enjoyed experiencing the wildlife with his grandchildren, especially eagles. He is survived by his four children: Michelle (Merle) Gustafson, JoAnne Steinbrecher, Mike (Joanie) Steede, and Terry (Tracey) Steede; his two sisters Marian (Fred) Norlin and Trudy (Karen) Steede; and 13 grandchildren: Kevin (Angel) Chmurynski, Erin (Scott) Raether, Angela Chmurynski, Lisa (Matt) Szukolowski, Adam (Kerrie) Steinbrecher, Becky (Joel)Katzenberger, Andy Steinbrecher, Jeremy Steede, Jessica Steede, Jenny Fitzpatrick, Jaylene Steede, Matt Steede, and Lindsay Steede; and 13 great-grandchildren: Morgan, Garrin, Brady, Jaiden, Angelina, Ava, Finn, Ava F, Kamden, Lily, Colton, Troy and Conrad; and many nieces and nephews. Richard was preceded in death by his wife Ethel in 1974 and his sister and brother-in-law Lillian and Dale Watchorn. There will be a memorial service in the summer before his burial at the Gardens of Rest Cemetery. Arrangements by BRING’S BROADWAY CHAPEL, www.bringfuneralhome.com
