Sylvia Sherry
May 21st, 1935 - May 19th, 2022
"Sylvia Sherry of London, England was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and wife during her incredible 86 years of life. She passed away peacefully at home in the early hours of Thursday, May 19, 2022 in Vail, Arizona. Sylvia was born to Albert Edward Clarke and Violet May Baxter on 21, May 1935. From a very young age of 18, Sylvia had a yearning for adventure traveling across the globe to America. She lived there for the remainder of her life where she worked as a Medical Office Manager for numerous doctors. In San Jose, California, Sylvia eventually found the love of her life at a Parents without Partners meeting. After spending many years together she married Michael Vigil on December, 24th 2004 in Lake Tahoe, Nevada. Sylvia was a dedicated mother and will be lovingly remembered by her four children and their spouses, Garry Sherry of Isleton, California, Chief Master Sergeant (ret) Robert Sherry and his wife Jacqueline of Tucson, Arizona, Kim Glass of South Lake Tahoe, California and Susan Wilson and her husband Charles of San Jose, California. Raising four very active children was no easy feat for Sylvia. But despite the many challenges, she managed to shuttle her children to Brownies, Girl Scouts, Cub and Boy Scout activities. And somehow in her limited spare time, managed to involve them in music and sailing lessons as well. Sylvia was also the proud "English Grandma" to her seven grandchildren and their spouses; Michael and his wife Jen Sherry, Sandra and her husband Dr. Joseph Dannemiller, Ashley and her husband Captain Lincoln Connell, Brandon Sherry, Anthony and his wife Mickey Brown, Tommy and Charlie Wilson and six great grandchildren; Mark Dannemiller, Alexandria Dannemiller, James Dannemiller, Manuel Rodriguez, Samuel Sherry and Lucas Brown. Sylvia was also the big sister to Pamela Gravestock of Maidstone, England to whom she was very close. She always talked fondly about the many vacation trips they took where they drove together across America as well as to numerous European countries with her husband Mike, sister Pam and her now deceased husband Ken. In her later retirement years, Sylvia moved to Vail, Arizona where she enjoyed staying busy making local hospital newborns knitted caps and crafting with love, diamond art pictures and handmade slippers for her children and grandchildren. Sylvia is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Violet Clarke. We will all miss Sylvia dearly, but we are so grateful for the time we had to spend with her. We will always feel her presence in our hearts."
