Donald W. Bennett
July 25th, 1938 - November 13th, 2022
Donald was born July 25, 1938 to Jeraldine Eisenhower Bennett and Paul Bennett in Richmond California. He passed away peacefully in his home November 13, 2022 in Tucson AZ. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Raymond and Robert, sister Patricia Willams (Will) and Melody. His son Raymond Wesley and beloved wife Margaret Jean Bennett. Donald is survived by his son Robert and Elda Bennett (California) daughters, Raquel Bennett (Arizona) and Tracy Soriano (California). Grandchildren, Michael Bennett, Andrea Bennett and Maxwell Bennett. After high school Don joined the United States Air Force and retired as a Master Sergeant after 25 years of service. He received AF Commendation Medal, AF Good Conduct Medal with 4 Oak Leaf Clusters, Presidential Unit Citation, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service and Gallantry and Small Arms Expert Marksmanship. Don's smile could light up a room and his love for his children and grandchildren was undeniable. He adored his wife, who has been the love of his life for many years and loved his friends dearly. He was a huge sports fan, his favorite football team is the Pittsburgh Steelers and his children and grandchildren inherited the team as a favorite also, (and we never even lived in PA ) Additionally his favorite sport was baseball, he would catch a spring break game or MLB game. He was a great bowler and great at pool. Don was always his families biggest cheerleader and supported them. He was proud of his children and grandchildren and loved to brag about them to anybody. He was the BEST friend who had the kindest soul and will forever be missed. You’re my hero…in so many ways, And I am so grateful for you. I have respect for the man that you were, And the Kind-hearted things you did. Your heart was ‘as big as the ocean’ A soft side you often didn’t show, All of your life you worked for your family, You taught me… and helped me to grow. You were the man I knew I could lean on, Who fostered a strong sense of pride, The father who gave me his love and affection, And always remained by my side. All of my life, Dad, I will be thankful, That I had a father….so true.. I never had to search for a hero, The hero in my life has always been You.
