Barbara Irene Evans

Barbara Irene Evans, age 88, passed away on February 2, 2023 in Tucson, Arizona. She was born in New Virginia, Iowa, on January 2, 1935 to the late Floyd and Ferne Hall. After traveling the world with her former husband, she settled in Tucson in 1977. She retired from the Veteran’s Administration Medical Center in Tucson as a financial clerk after many years of dedicated service. Barbara is preceded in death by her parents, sister Kathrine Rice, and brother Howard Hall. Her brothers Fred (Joyce) of Denver, CO, and Daniel (Patricia) Hall of Aurora, CO, survive. Barbara leaves four sons, David (Stephanie) of Daytona Beach, FL, Donald (Pauline) of Sanborn, NY, Douglas (Melanie) of Flagstaff, AZ, and Dennis (Laura) of Tucson, AZ. to mourn her passing. She also leaves seven grandchildren, Benjamin (Dawn) Evans, and Daniel (Amy) Evans of Woodbridge, VA, Dr. Hayley (Joseph Angelhow) Evans of Ransomville, NY, Autumn Evans and Christian (Erika Halvarson) Evans of Niagara Falls, NY, and Alexander and Samuel Evans of Tucson, AZ. She was a proud great-grandmother to five great-grandchildren, Erin, David, Dylan, and Hunter Evans, all of Woodbridge, VA, and Adrian Angelhow of Ransomville, NY. She also leaves several cousins, nieces, and nephews. Barbara was a voracious reader and prolific quilter, a skill she learned from her mother. Her children and grandchildren were the proud recipients of her skill with the needle. She was a member of El Camino Baptist Church, attending via streaming services in her later years. She continued to be a regular patron of the Tucson Public Library System until her death, mysteries and thrillers her genre of choice. She enjoyed watching Jeopardy, NCIS, and Dancing with the Stars. She liked a good burger from In-N-Out and cheese curds from Culvers, as well as chocolate of any kind. She had a dry wit and sense of humor. She will be greatly missed by her loving family.
