Mementos

Sometime between the evening of the 22nd of April and morning of the 23rd the bonds that tied Judith Staab to this world were severed. She left us in her sleep as not to make a fuss. She returned to the side of her husband of 60 years, John Staab, in the hereafter, where he had been patiently waiting for her arrival. Blonde in most of our memories, she met the Lord with graceful and beautiful dark brown and gray. Judy was an unassuming giant of any space she occupied, physical, mental, or spiritual. She is survived by her 5 children: Anne (Dave) Barber, Beth (Tony) Hemann, John (Donna) Staab, Christian Staab and Peter Staab, a flock of 14 grandchildren and a gaggle of 10 great-grandchildren. Always self-directed and driven, Judy was a wife, a mother, an entrepreneur, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. She dedicated herself to her family and friends and faith in God. She always found a way to to help the less fortunate, even when fortune was not on her side. Always bettering herself, she found time to return school to study the stars. Along with her husband John, Judy was at one time a highly ranked member of the South Fork Line Dancers. Judy prayed consistently and whole-heartedly. She studied the words of the Good Book and found salvation in the words. This past year she celebrated her 55th birthday for the 28th time. She had run the race and won, passing on the lessons of her victories and losses to her children and their families so to show the path. Selfless and loving in life and graceful and beautiful in death, she will be greatly missed. A celebration of life mass will be held on May 24th at 4:00 PM at St. Pius X Church. A mass of internment will be held in Springfield, Illinois on July 18th at the Church of the Little Flower.
