Vinette Meyers MacMillan

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Vinette Meyers MacMillan on August 9, 2023. She peacefully transitioned into God's hands after a brief illness, surrounded by her loving family in Tucson, Arizona. Vinette was born on October 7, 1938, in Newark, New Jersey, to Alice and Vincent Meyers. She graduated from Mountain Lakes High School in 1956. After graduating, she moved to Greenwich, CT where she worked in the medical records department at Greenwich Hospital. In 1958, she married the father of her three children. Vinette is survived by her devoted husband, James T. MacMillan, a childhood friend from Mountain Lakes, New Jersey. They married in Tucson, Arizona in 2006. She is also survived by her beloved children and grandchildren: son, Frederick Hobby III; daughters, Claudia Zabik and Kathryn Hobby; grandchildren, Marcus and Ava Zabik. Vinette will always be remembered for her unconditional love and support. Throughout her career, Vinette displayed a range of talents and skills, including restaurant ownership, hotel management and executive assistant positions in the financial industry. While living in Hong Kong in the mid-1980s, she served as President of the American Women’s Club of Hong Kong, overseeing the 1,300 members for two years. Vinette was known for her creativity and ability to solve problems, as well as her generous and loving personality. She overcame any obstacles she faced with an optimistic spirit and a stylish flair. A loving and beloved wife, mother and grandmother who will not be forgotten. Vinette’s memorial service will be held on August 26, 2023 at Brings Broadway Chapel in Tucson, Arizona at 10 AM. Her legacy will forever be held in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
