Sheila V. Jones
March 12th, 1946 - September 7th, 2023
Sheila Veronica Jones With great sadness, we announce the passing of our kind, brave, and caring mother, Sheila Jones, who passed away peacefully on September 7, 2023. Sheila was born in Liverpool, England on March 12, 1946 and emigrated to Tucson in 1974, with her husband Les, two young children and eight months pregnant with her youngest child. Sheila and Les had many helping hands in starting their new journey in the US, especially from her sister Teresa, nephew Mike and the Mathieu family. Sheila worked in the banquet department at Levy's. She left what was then, Foley's, in 1988 to become the owner of a travel agency, The Tucson Traveler, which she successfully ran until it's closing in 2002. For several years, she worked part-time doing various travel agency related work until her retirement. Les and Sheila took much joy in running St. Francis de Sales Soccer Club for many years where they met wonderful, lifelong friends. They both were avid travelers, with their interests taking them all over the world but their favorite place to go was their beloved Liverpool home. Sheila's greatest love and legacy was her family. She treasure her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as Nana to her grandchildren. Everyone who knew Sheila would quickly recognize that she was an extremely kind, loving, gentle and peaceful person and that she loved her family very much. Unfortunately, Sheila endured various health issues for the last ten years of her life, of which she battled with the most amazing grace, spirit, bravery and strength. She lived everyday with positivity and a determination to not let any disease keep her from doing the things she loved. Sheila is preceded in death by her husband Les, her parents Michael and Mary Ellen, her brother Mike and sisters, Nellie and Teresa. Sheila is survived by her three children Amanda, Marc and Anthony (Tara) and two grandchildren Ella and Jemma. She is also survived by niece and nephew Julie and Mike Feerick, along with many other nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews both here in the US and in Liverpool. Our mom, Sheila, will be missed more than any words could possibly express and she will be in our heart and minds forever. Until we meet again, Mom, we love youI
