Dawn Marie Camphouse Dawn, the second of three daughters to parents Paulette (nee: Kalivoda) and Donald Camphouse, was born on October 11, 1969, in Berwyn, IL. As a young girl, Dawn enjoyed playing with her older and younger sisters, Kimberly and Rene. Always being curious in nature and eager to learn new things, Dawn was devoted to her school work from a young age and especially loved math. Dawn’s love for math only grew while attending Glenbard West High School in Glen Ellyn, IL. Given her passion for numbers and the joy she felt after solving complex math problems, Dawn decided to pursue undergraduate studies at North Central College in Naperville, IL. She would eventually graduate Summa Cum Laude in June 1992 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Math. While beginning her teaching career at Lisle High School in Illinois, a move out West in 1995 resulted in Dawn spending the next 20 plus years teaching all levels of high school math, from Pre-Algebra to Pre-Calc, at Salpointe Catholic and Sonoran Science Academy in Tucson, Arizona. Dawn was well-known by her peers as a devoted educator, but to her students, she was a beloved teacher who spent hours before and after school helping each individual who entered her classroom expand their quest for knowledge, build their confidence and achieve their potential. Although health issues forced Dawn to leave full-time teaching, she remained engaged in the subject matter she loved and spent several years as a private math tutor in Tucson. When not teaching or tutoring, Dawn enjoyed walking, drawing and photography as hobbies and took several trips with her mother and sisters to both San Francisco and Chicago. Dawn was called to heaven on September 15, 2023, and will be forever missed and loved by her surviving sisters, Kimberly Stack and Rene Camphouse, her uncle, George Kalivoda and her dearest nephew, Jared Stack.
