Frank Herrera, Sr.

Frank Herrera Sr. of Tucson, Arizona passed away peacefully on September 17, 2023 at the age of 89. He was born on May 23, 1934 in Watsonville, CA, to the late Aureilo and Antonio Herrera. Frank was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Frank is survived by the love of his life of 68 years, Arcelia Herrera. He is also survived by his sons Frank Herrera Jr (Mary Jane), Tony Herrera (Olga Dubo), Joe Herrera (Mary), and son-in-law Sean Mcbride. He is also survived by his brother Manual Herrera and sister Maria Parker (Wilbur). Frank was preceded in death by his brothers Angel and Benny Herrera, and daughter Jo Ann Mcbride. Frank retired as a Korean and Vietnam Veteran from the United States Air Force. After serving 20 years in the USAF, he then dedicated 20 years of his life to the Tucson Airport Authority Police Department. Frank enjoyed fishing, hunting and reading in his free time. For many years, he found solace within his community at St. Francis de Sales Parish, where he became a lector. Frank was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. A rosary service will be held at 3:00pm on September 28th, 2023, at Brings Broadway Chapel, 6910 E. Broadway Blvd. Funeral mass will begin at 10:00am the following day at St. Francis de Sales Parish, 1375 S. Camino Seco. Interment will follow at 12:00pm at East Lawn Palms Mortuary and Cemetery, 5801 E. Grant Rd. The family would like to thank the staff at Casa de la Luz Hospice for their compassionate care of Frank during his time there. Frank will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who knew him. May his soul rest in peace with our Heavenly Father.
