Jeanne Carroll Bestul Cook died peacefully on February 10, 2024 after a brief illness. Jeanne was born July 30, 1929 in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. She is survived by her five children, Jan (Brad) Peterson, Jeff (Sandy) Cook, Steve (Janet) Cook, Doug Cook, Liane (Mark) Cubbage, sister, Mary Lou Forier, 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Jeanne married Lloyd Cook in 1950 and moved to Florida. After Lloyd’s death in 1960, she moved to Tucson to be with family. Working as a legal assistant and eventually becoming a paralegal, she raised her 5 children as a single parent. Jeanne was an avid outdoor woman, nature lover and reader. She loved to ski, hike, sail, cycle, dance, and especially garden. Traveling was also a passion for her and she had a map for everywhere she had been. She also had a cabin in Blairsville, Georgia, where she spent her summers for 24 years, entertaining all of her family and friends with wonderful food and lakeside activities.. Jeanne was a strong, vibrant woman and she will be sorely missed. There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday, February 17.
