Dayton Schoen Jennings, 88, originally of Saint Joseph, Missouri, passed away August 3, 2007 in Mesa, Arizona. Dayton was born November 1, 1918 on a farm in Andrew County to Albert and Anna Jennings. He attended Lafette High School and Plate Guards Business College in Saint Joseph. He then went on to serve in the Army during World War II, Ordnance Division, from December 9, 1940 to October 26, 1945. Dayton was married to Marion E. Terrell December 23, 1945 and they had three children. He worked as a letter carrier with the US Post Office for 37 years. He is survived by his son Albert T. Jennings of Gilbert, AZ and a daughter, Stella Annette Spencer of Lawton, OK; a sister Ruthanna L. Kurtz of Denver, CO; granddaughter Charity M. Mesik of Ottawa, KS; and great-grandchildren Ryder, Zayne, Greyson, Fath, and Hope Mesik. Dayton is preceded in death by his parents, wife, and son Steven S. Jennings and grandson Jeremy S. Jennings. Funeral services were held at Desert Gateway Baptist Church in Gilbert Arizona August 7, 2007 at 2:00 pm. Interment will take place at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Saint Joseph, Missouri.
